Important content
Insurance loss prevention
An insurance section will be coming soon. For now consider getting some wrap pads. Check out trainingbuddypads.com. The reason is to prevent liability. For example pulldown bars are a leading source of injury-based liability claims within the fitness industry. Just imagine that cable snapping and the bar coming back down onto your teeth. I would rather some padding be there, but yet gym after gym is missing this.
Earn Money training Online
Have you tried earning some cashflow for your business by offering your training services online. Many people today are buying online programs and even doing training session via camera. This is a excellent opportunity, especially if you live in a small rural area. Check out sites such as web active that specialize in remote service offering (www.wbactive.com) or other sites like Fiver (http://fiverr.com). Fiver is a site where you advertise what you would do for 5 bucks. You could offer some kind of personal training demo, info, personalize consult or other for a quick five dollars.
New Client
If your new to this game then be prepared to get stood up a few times. When you book a new client before accepting payment they often fail to show up for your first consult or meeting. It is best to give them a reminder call. Often they aren't motivated enough to even get started. Don't be afraid to call them and see why they missed the appointment, be sure to reschedule. Often, clients that fail to show, are clients that you have not met yet. Products or services that are complicated to explain or demonstrate and/or are priced over $500 are best sold face to face. Appointment Setting is a form of selling. It is selling the client on why they should commit to spending their valuable time with your personal training business. Sell them on the appointment and get them excitted, but this doesn't guarantee they won't show. An industry solution is to get a credit card number and let them know that they will be charged for the consult/first appointment if they don't show up. It will be free if they do. We often only do this for the second booking, giving the client the benefit of the doubt.
Workouts
Looking for some workouts for your clients. Something to get them excited. Then check out Legendary workouts. http://www.superstarworkouts.com. This site has some famous workout routines listed. So you can let your clients know that their favourite star or baseball legend also did similar training or an exercise.
Fads
If your going to specialize in fads like zumba fitness and the like, then you better get a back up plan. Business will be good during the life cycle of the fad but unless you plan to go from fad to fad you going to be struggling to make a viable business in between the fads. With the advent of virtual technologies such and the Nintendo wii with games like zumba fitness is it viable to specialize in fitness dances and the like? More and more clients will buy the game rather than hire an instructor. The only way to stay in such a business is to advertise like crazy and work it like a networking business. Good luck to you.
Blurrrrrry
Why would you use a distorted picture for your advertisement? We are not talking about on purpose either, we are talking about laziness or stupidity.
